Wine Barrel Rocking Chair with Leather Upholstery –
The Hungarian Workshop has been San Diego’s number one place to order fine quality Wine barrel furniture. In past four years we have teamed up with Stone Brewing Company and haven’t slowed down since. Another big client of ours has been couple of the local Whole Foods Markets and few smaller local brewery’s tasting rooms.
In past year I have been doing a lot of product and development and we have entered a whole new demographic of strictly interior design. The concept of adding fine leather to our current pieces become evident after our products were needed in more and more interior location. By end of the summer we will have the whole new leather line available online and most likely in a couple retail store.
The Chair –
We handcraft each chair from a single wine barrel that is the perfect shape and size for a rocker. Many people often think you can use just about any barrel, but in fact it is important to use a short and round one. Likely a Cabernet barrel will fit that description. They have a much bigger curve radius and wider staves that work very well. All major joints have support brackets underneath for additional reinforcement which we make our self from the Wine Barrel’s rings. All the other hardware is stainless steel for great quality and a high end look. For the finish we use Brazilian Rosewood which protects the oak while bringing out the beautiful grain pattern and patina.
The backrest and seat feature the fine Italian leather upholstered by hand in a tufted style.
FULL-GRAIN has been a favorite for a long time that has a very natural look and feel with a generous color palette. Unlike top-grain leather, the surface is left naked. It is aniline-drum dyed and softer to the touch. For anyone who is a true leather purists and those who appreciate the beautiful patina that is enhanced with age.
