The Barrels
These Whiskey Barrel Bar Stools are made out of old and used whiskey barrels that were no longer able to hold and alcohol. Once a distillery has used them for many many years they usually will sell them of to breweries. Most brewers will age their specialty stouts or dark beers in old barrel to give the beers that great hint of whiskey flavors, long with a nice tone of oak-inness. Then after the barrel has been used once it gets a whole new life as furniture. The Whiskey Barrels are made from American White Oak which is an excellent wood for indoor and outdoor furniture. With the right amount of sanding you can keep each stave smooth and leaving just the right amount of charring and patina behind to show of its beautiful characteristics and history.
We receive barrels from lots of companies: Makers Mark, Jim Beam etc. and many local breweries as well.
